Accepting an invite as a reviewer: what happens next?

If you have received an email from conference chair inviting you to become part of the review committee for that conference, this is what you will need to know about accepting, filling in your details and choosing your topic area. As part of the review committee, your task will be to review and approve submissions, and we here at Ex Ordo have tried to make this as straightforward as possible.

Step 1) Becoming a reviewer

Firstly you will receive an email invite, offering you the chance to accept or decline participation in the review committee of the conference.

Read down through the email to find two options, one allowing you the accept the invitation and another to decline it. To take the first step in becoming a reviewer select the one which confirms your acceptance.

Step 2) Setting up your reviewer profile

When you log into the Ex Ordo system for your conference, you will see a card on your dashboard which will guide you through the process of setting up your reviewer profile. Click on Choose your Topics to start the process.

You may also be prompted to submit a paper to the conference (which may or may not be optional depending on the conference). 

Step 3) Updating your affiliation and country

If you select to choose your topics as a reviewer you will first need to input your affiliation and country.

Once you click  Done, you will be brought to the topics workflow where you can choose your topics.

Step 4) Choosing your topics

Here you choose the topics that reflect your areas of expertise. First, click on Choose Topics as shown below.

Once you select it, you will see the topics and topic groups, if topic groups are enabled in your conference.

Once you click on your chosen topics, they will appear green. Then when you are finished selecting topics, select the 'X' in the top right hand corner of the screen and you will see your final topics laid out as below.

To finish this process you need to click Done. Now the organizers know you are Ready to Review. Once there are papers assigned to you by the conference chair you will receive an email asking you to log in and complete your reviews. Keep an eye out!
