Reviewer responsibilities and tasks
Each user in the Ex Ordo system can carry several roles, be they a chair, an author, or a reviewer. Each role carries different abilities within the system and a user can hold more than one of these roles. When a user is either invited or appointed to become a reviewer they gain a set of abilities which are confined to the reviewing stage and this article will explain the most important of these abilities
Topic Selection
If you've invited your reviewers, they will be able to log in and select the topics that they can review through a card on their dashboard. As an administrator, however, you have the ability to set their topics for them (see here) and they won't be asked to do this any longer.
Submission Details
Once the review has commenced, reviewers will be able to login and begin reviewing the submissions assigned to them. Reviewers can then Accept or Decline to review a specific paper, if this option is shown to them (setting shown below).
Obviously reviewers will be able to see the details of these submissions, their titles, abstracts, and the submission ID. By default, the reviewers will be able to see the names of the authors, though if you wish you can hide the author details from the reviewers by selecting the Double Blind review option in the reviewing configuration as below:
Otherwise, reviewers have few powers within the system once they have completed their reviews. They cannot use the communication centre and they cannot make any changes to the submissions in the system unless they are also set as chairs or assistants.
